Hi
I intend to start tiling tonight dependent on advice from here.
Firstly the area is only 1.36sqm . I have installed a warmup loose wire system over glued and screwed hardie backer board. I do not need this as a source of heating as there is a radiator in this small ensuite, just too take the chill off the tiles in winter.
I have two questions if anyone can give advice.
Firstly I have purchased a wedge levelling system off ebay to use. My question is looking at it this morning the plastic parts left behind will be in close proximity to the heater wire, as they are left behind when snapped off. Could this be a problem melting etc or will the wire not get hot enough? I know most people use an slc and insulation board, but for the reasons above this would be overkill for such a small area.
My second question is I have brought a heat controller / timer that has a 3m sensor are these reliable / long lived? Also are they left bare as per instructions from warmup who do people coat them to prevent corrosion?
Pic below (before hiding coldtail or fitting sensor)
Many thanks for any input
John.
