If there is movement and bounce is the builder at fault for not preparing it correctly. Or is the tiller at fault for tilling over something that was not prepared correctly?

Who sourced the tiler?
If Builder then half each, cos I’ll expect he will have been pressured by Builder to ‘just get it down’

If it was you, the tiler should have known better. But then any tiler who lays thin tile that way is not a tiler who’s up to speed with modern practices or techniques and may not even be a tiler at all.
I specialise in thin tile and I spent half my time last year putting bad installs right.
For thin tile to survive the distance it has to be installed correctly, and that isn’t.

When I spoke to Wunda they said "if I use there products I shouldn't need to use the board".

Their products, whose and what?

The builder prep the floor - All boarded before the tiller came round.

The kitchen company sourced the tiles and the tiller.

Wunda tech said if I follow their install guide and use products they suggest.
"You do not have to use a backer board. If you do, you will float it and tape the joints."

Best thing to do rip it up. As for who's fault? We get builders all the time "It will be ok " Not!!

Ok an update... the builder said the extension flooring area is chipboard and not concrete (least the whole downstairs is the same material)... and tested it with a laser level - The floor is only 15mm out over a 80m2 area (measuring from the surface of the ditra matting/ not the top of the dabs). The tiller used a large level to try and get the floor ask accurate as possible (not a laser level) hence them trying to build the levels using the dab method.
They are aiming to take all the tiles back up. Chip away the Dot and dabs and the use a 5-10mm self levelling screed on top of the ditra matting before tilling again.
I get this is not the correct way to do but can anyone advise if using Bal screed will stick on top of the ditra matting ok and then using bal flexible adhesive will work?

Haven't had any dealings with Wundafloor I assumed (sorry) it is a cheaper version of whats normally used, apparently it is easy to install for Diy? I know it has some sort of metal on it. As for thin tiles yes we fix them, not dot and dab. Not dot and dab anything ! I would get everything up then assess what needs to be done. Chipboard flooring is a no no for tiling has to be overlaid . Is anyone going to compensate you, as cost of install correctly is usually high ?

Quite simply we supply chipboard because it has a very high compression rate and some tilers prefer to use it.

Suitable for:
Ceramic. Porcelain. Marble & Stone Tiles (Approved by leading adhesive manufacturers for tiling directly onto) ??????

Suitable for:
Ceramic. Porcelain. Marble & Stone Tiles (Approved by leading adhesive manufacturers for tiling directly onto) ??????

I would love them to list which leading manufacturers approved that . I think that is probably a full on lie
