Tiling a ceiling?!?! - TilersForums.com

Hi everyone,
I've been tiling for several years now but today I have experienced a first..."could you tile my ceiling?"! Has anyone else done this? Or even been asked to do this? I thought they were taking the mick at first but they were serious, I said I would research it and what better place to start than with asking you guys/girls

No reason they cant be tiled, not that common though.
What size and type of tile?

The tiles are 300x200, I've done the floor and walls in the same tiles, they have no lights on the ceiling so they broached the idea because a spa they went to had the ceiling done. I imagine its a job that requires some planning but its possible...

Can tiling with mosaic,if really need,but with tiles is not a good idea.

make sure ceiling is solid and can support weight ; using the flat side of the trowel spread athin coat on the ceiling ;skim coat basically then apply adhesive to the back of tile as normal ;the trick is to run a bead of adhesive all along the edge of the tile this will cause an air suction holding the tile in place hopefully ;best of luck

Of course you can lol, check my albums out, the one called Chiswick House, it was done a few years ago, sorry about the low res pictures, they were taken on my phone. As long as the preparation is right you should not have a problem.
