what do you use to tile onto when tiling a bath panel ?

HardiBacker Board.

12mm plasterboard. I always try and leave a 18" separate section at the tap end. So if a plumber does need to smash tiles off its only a small part.

and always leave an inspection trap!

Hardiebacker for me. Making sure there is no deflection. Inspection trap to line up with grout line, but siliconed (instead of grout). So much nicer than a plastic bath panel.

I wanted to do an inspection panel on the last one but struggled with the brick bond pattern so didn't bother

12.5 plasterboard or 6mm hardi. Depends on the clearance I have at the lip on the top of the bath.
