After many years I have decided never to tile on wood or anything similar thats floating ...... nightmare. Builders should stop cost cutting and put solid floors down.

Knowing the deflection would be useful and if its within the 1mm/3600mm span. Either the tile needs to be able to cope with the load from the flex or reduce the flex.

Those tiles are ceramic from British Ceramic Tiles.....

Another one bites the dust.

The tiles are not suitable for your project. Yes, the tiler could have laid cement construction boards on top of the chip board and that may have helped but the crack is mainly due to the tiles not being strong enough for flooring.

We sourced from B&Q - assume this means this is who B&Q bought from and they are not good enough for the job? Is there a different tile you would recommend? Brand or material or thickness?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry for your problems. Tiles that cost £11.00 a box should be an indication of quality.B/Q probably have 100% mark up do the maths. You should use Porcelain, that can be around £20.oo mt
