i can remember as a 16 year old being on site as an apprentice (not an official apprenticeship) watching the Italian terrazzo layers doing wet stair cases etc,whilst i was breaking ice butts of water and getting the quarry tiles lined up for the day or knocking up screed.
they would have no problem with you watching them and they would even try to explain some elements of the job,but if you tried to get near or into the tent type setup they had around there mixer stone sand etc boy would there be some colourful italian profanities aimed in your direction and you may even get chased up the site depending on who the mixer was.

How many time have we all read that a tiling shed has given advice only for the public to come on here and find it to be wrong.Maybe some of the staff at these tiling sheds should come onto this forum and learn along way the public.

This forum is not just about giving advice to the public/diyer many many of the members have meet and spoke to people they would have never meet and made some good friends.

Not wrong there Oldgit, won a two week job on Saturday to only lose most of it today due to their budget.

you will find that most of us who have work booked in might loose out for the moment due to various things such as the client over spending at christmas and of course people being made redundant,which of course is unfortunate.
