Can anyone put me in touch with a tiler who does restoration/period refurbishment work and works with lime mortar?
I am replacing the victorian plain red quarry tiles in an old Victorian scullery with reproduction quarry tiles of a different colour.
The original Victorian tiles are uneven, worn and damaged. As salvage they are worth very little on eBay.
They are laid in a solid lime mortar bed. There is no DPM.
The floor needs to remain vapour permeable to allow moisture to escape. Unsealed reprodution quarry tiles laid on a new lime mortar bed will achieve this.
I am in Surrey, near Kingston Upon Thames.
