Hi all

I know the weight limits for normal plasterboard, either 32kpm2 (or 20kpm2 if skimmed) but does anyone know the stats for the thermaline stuff?

I'm doing a bathroom using 610x610 filled and polished travertine, and the walls were lined in thermaline. I told the customer that I couldn't guarantee that the walls could take the weight, so I advised that we should strip them off completely and reboard using 12mm hardiebacker.

I'm glad we stripped it off, as there was virtually NO dot and dab holding it on, but it has added nearly a grand to the total cost.

I'll post picks if I remember my camera.

Not a screw in sight. Barely a dot or a dab, and it looked as though it had all been skimmed at least three times!
