Gents,
Any idea what the best silicone would be to use in a steam room?

I need to silicone the glass U channel areas as they have finally started to go mouldy after 6 years of use. I wish I could remember what the last brand was as it's held up so well but I just can't remember.

Thanks!

I personally use Dow Corning for white or clear and Mapei or Ottoseal for colours.

Do try our sponsor @ISOMAT UK as I understand they also sell sealants

Thanks for your input.
I was considering using the above sealents but am wondering if I may need something that resists more heat. The above sealants can handle temps of up to 150f so I guess I'm just being overly cautious as some specialist silicones can handle temps double that, but cost five times the price.

I tried a product called Muffycid which worked really well and removed the bulk of the mould, but the original silicone is looking a bit knackered and seems to have worn a bit over the years. I think I'll defo change it to keep things looking tidy and fresh in there.

Domosil S looks good with a high temperature rating.

Has anyone had any experience in using this as I wondering if it sets of hardish due to it's high mechanical strength?

Have you ever measured the temperature in your steam room as 150 degrees f seems pretty high

I always use Dow 785 Sanitary silicone in bathrooms and wet rooms and would go with that again. Alternatively, I'd ring them up and ask if there was a better product more suited to steam rooms.
