Hello All,

What can I use to eliminate ceiling plasterboard being dampened when shower in use?

There is about 12" between shower head and ceiling. Some waterproof primers and paints
seem an option, or some form of plastic cladding stuck on the ceiling with sealant.
I'm trying to keep costs down, but also need to eliminate this damping.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Why not put up pvc ceiling panels like these....

Blimey that's quick!
Thanks for the help, presently "kitchen/bathroom emulsion".
Would I have to remove this prior to any sealing/priming?
Stewart, that pvc ceiling looks great, can I seal direct to ceiling
or include battens?
Thanks,
Chris

If ceiling is flat then you can fix it direct, but if uneven, then as kilty said, use batons to level.....

I have an extractor/light above mine. My shower head is also only about 12" from ceiling. Don't have any problems.

Shower dome is popular over here, its a clear perspex dome fitted over the top of the shower and sits and fixed to shower glass .Most old homes dont have extractor fans so its an easy fix. You might have something similar in the UK.
