Im soon to start removing the 10mm thick floor tiles from my bathroom, they are fitted on what looks like moisture resistance chip board ( the green stuff).

whats the best method of removing them and the adhesive?

Hammer/chisel, scraper? Ive got an sds breaker with a chisel attachment?

was also thinking that if the floor is going to sustain a lot of damage, is it better to just remove the floor boards, with tiles on, then replace the floor with new boards

use whatever you need to get the old floor up, a breaker is a good start.
over board the chipboard with a 6mm hardi backer board from you local
tile store and screw down ever 6in in both direction. prime the boards
and your ready to tile, its as simple as that, good luck and let us know
how you get on.😃
oh and make sure you use a flexible adhisive and grout.

Been chipping away at it (literally) in evenings after work and when ever i got a few spare minutes in between other jobs. got most it of without much damage. Just need to scrape the last bits of adhesive off to make it level enough to overboard.

Re the hardi backer... Would you use this over the area where im going to be fitting a shower tray (with a booster) or only use it where i plan to tile?

Also what do you do about the increased step between the floor in the other room and bathroom that will be created with the backer board. Adhesive and tile height?

Can you get threshold strips that cover fairly large difference in height.
Guessing it will be 15-20mm
