Hello, I'm looking for some advice quite urgently. To explain: I recently pulled up some faux-laminate flooring strips that had been stuck down over a lovely old ceramic tiled floor. This floor covering must have been stuck down with an industrial strength impact adhesive and, as such, has left a very sticky residue on the surface of the ceramic floor tiles. I have tried various method and different chemicals to try and remove this horrible stuff (heatgun & scraper, acetone, decapant, hydrochloric acid, WD40, petrol) - plus several strong washes - but the stickiness is still there on the tile surface. I actually like the original tiles and I am keen to restore them as they are otherwise intact. Can anyone recommend a method and/or product that can easily remove this sticky impact-adhesive residue from the surface my ceramic floor tiles ?
Many thanks in anticipation,
Keith
