Dear all, I thought I was a half competent diyer.., I've laid some polished porcelain white tiles, was so excited by how it looked I forgot to seal before using a dark colour grout.. You can imagine the results.

Anyhow to rectify this I was thinking whether or not its possible to tile over the polished porcelain tiles which I've since sealed... Would there be a strong enough bond with the tiles below? Can anyone recommend a adhesive for this purpose? Or as I fear do I have to lift them all and start again, not too bad as its only a 4m2 room. In which case has anyone got any tips or how to break or lift polished porcelain tiles?

The reason I laid in this small room was practice before I lay my kitchen with similar tiles, I wondering what the best sealant that's out there is, don't mind if its solvent based eyc just want it to be extremely effective so when I come to grout I don't have similar issues.

Hope you all can help..

Pete

So the tiles were stained and you went ahead and sealed them?

Anyway if the tiles have been sealed you need a product to remove the sealer and then a product to remove the grout stains.
Lithofin, HG, LTP etc.. all do them but the amount of effort and elbow grease that may be required could be great.
Removing 4m2 shouldn't be too hard with just a hammer and bolster but if you have an SDS with wide chisel bit it will be very easy.

All 3 mentioned above are good, I personally use LTP.
