Hi all,

New to tiling here but want to try it out. I'm re-tiling around my kitchen, so not a big area. The wall is plasterboard and I've removed the old tiles. Whilst the tiles came off cleanly, they have pulled the paper lining off the plasterboard. Otherwise the plasterboard surface is smooth. Removing the walls is not really and option for me, so what do I need to do before retiling?

  • Do I need some sort of primer or sealer?
  • Can i use pre-mixed adhesive or is it much worse than the powder?
  • Anything else I should know before embarking? Happy to make mistakes, just not too many!

Thanks

That has had a slim of plaster. Carry on taking the tiles off carefully, then get a scraper on to the old adhesive. When all smooth give it a prime with sbr or acrylic.
