Hi
My recently laid bathroom tiles have the following problems:
There is a hollow/metallic sound on a few tiles when they are walked on. Does this indicate the glue underneath is going?
The tiles aren't even but the grout is still in place. Should they be taken up and relaid?

Thank you for any advice?
Cheers
Brendan

Sounds like a few of them are not bedded in to the adhesive fully possibly not enough coverage under the tiles, it could cause problems down the line

Is the grout cracked usually you can tell if hollow if you knock on them are the tiles moving at all ?
And maybe some pictures we love pictures :)

cheers. I'll send photos shortly. The tiles dont seem to be moving and the grout isnt blown. But there is the weird hollow, metallic sound. Pus the tiles arent even. Do you think i should take them up and replace them?

The weird metal sound is in a small area between the loo and the sink - space of about two metres apart. Attached images don;t show much I'm afraid - but one of them clearly shows the tiles are not laid evenly together. Anybody hazard a guess as to what's going on?

What are the tiles laid onto? Plywood? Concrete? If you tap them do they sound hollow? Best advice would be to lift the tile that is sticking up proud of the rest, prise it up and have a look if there is any adhesive on tile and if the adhesive on floor is all dry and cracked.
