goodmorning fellas

went to pick up a load of white star this morning and the boke had run out of acrylic primer. he asked what i needed it for and i said toi use on a large bathroom using the white star.

he told me i didnt need primer with this addy as it was self priming. ive looked on tub but cant see where it says that.

can anyone confirm or unconfirm for me please.

thanks

You don't need to prime if using white star on plasterboard, though it won't hurt if you do.

Tubbed adhesive is usually acrylic based so with plasterboard there is no potential chemical reaction to worry about - ettringite crystallisation - between cement and gypsum, like you would get with powdered stuff.
