Hi all,

First time DIY tiles here. We fixed down a hardibacker subfloor yesterday with rapid set adhesive, etc.

On 3 walls weve filled in the gap between the board and the wall in a complete brain fart.

Overnight with the window open, we heard a series of popping noises from the floor.

Is this normal, is there anything we can do to recreate the gap (now set in floor adhesive), or does this all need ripping up and lessons learning?

Is there a chance weve cause any damage to the room in general?

Sharp chisel and start hammering away round the perimeter, do it soon before it completely sets.

Cheers Paulg83. That was fun(!) but now have a new 5-10mm gap.

Do you reckon the popping could mean any issues caused with the board? Feels solid as a rock still.
