It's been a couple of weeks of hard graft and I'm glad it's over.

Forget the name but it was a Tarmac cement based screed. Nice and flat, first big pour that I've encountered that actually had movement joints built in. When I first went to look they had been back to repair one crack. There was a lot of laitance to remove.

Only a couple of hairline cracks after the first UFH commissioning.
Customer supplied anti frac mat.

Got myself one of those Kardean rollers recommended on this forum (top tip!) to fit Kerakoll's Idrobuild Tex matting which was supplied by customer.

14 meters from trifold doors to front door was only 4mm out of square so setting out was easy.

The tiling was not so easy, few days in I got a mate in to back butter, wash buckets and help me lug boxes of tiles about.

Used 1200+ clips!

Went in to grout and silicone on Saturday - didn't fancy doing it in a 34C heatwave - especially when I can be sat in my garden with a beer! 1.JPG

Nice job, great tiles. What is the cut out section for ?

The cut outs at the front and utility doors are mat wells but I’m guessing you knew that.
The cut out in the ‘boot room’ with the red thing buried in the screed is a safe.

The tiles were mint. No bow at all when you lay them on a hard flat surface (they flatten out perfectly under their own weight)
Sitting in a bed of adhesive was a bit different and the clips were essential.
Just avoided a joint in the middle of a tile as I reckon that would have been asking too much.

Wicked Nick!
I was gonna ask earlier were there any finished images, now you’ve added those extra ones that’s kool mate.
Stunning job :)

Cheers Marc

It’s that auto merge feature - dunno if I like it but I can see it must make mods life easier

Aaah that bit is to be carpeted and that shape allows his corner sofa to sit there and maintain an equidistance between his kitchen island and blah blah blah .... I’d switched off at that point to be honest but finally got him to tell me where to square my lines and at what angle. I’ve lots more to do there over next couple of months so will be interesting to see how it all looks.

I went back to do the en-suite, outside wc. He also wanted the concrete step outside that surrounds the trifold doors finished with planks so it looks like the doors are sat on the floor.

Only thing I’m not keen on in this house was the wall tiles and mosaics he chose for the en-suite. Hated doing it cos it’s the wrong choice.

Will be back in about 5 weeks to do the main bathroom. He’s being a bit cagey about what he wants and just says it will be challenging!
The bathroom has a little window in it but being north facing it’s quite dark in the daytime so I’ve got to wait till he gets a light tube installed like in the en-suite.
