How do you attach that to your grinder?
It depends on the task I’m carrying out tbh.
There are a multitude of dust cowls out there for different uses.
But I also have it for floor grinding, and with a ‘Y’ connector you can run two angle grinders at once.

Have one of those in the shed. It does glide but not a patch on the dyson
The point is that you still have it after 50 years, I very much doubt that your Dyson will last 50 months.
We had one too at home (hover) and I inherited it for DIY work until I destroyed it with brick dust, one of the issues with it was that it kicked out air under it - blowing everything around before you got to it.
I now use one of these Titan TTB430VAC 1400W 30Ltr Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner 240V | Wet & Dry Vacuums | NoLinksToThis - https://www.NoLinksToThis/p/titan-ttb430vac-1400w-30ltr-wet-dry-vacuum-cleaner-240v/70472 and that also blows as hard as it sucks with the same problem of chucking laying dust around so for inside work I connect an extra length of 32mm hose and route that out the window. Another good feature is the power take off that turns the hover on when you pull the tool trigger, and standard 32mm fittings
