So as our brand new look forum takes off, and we have members signing up thick and fast. (Not forgetting all the 'Lurkers' that are now 'coming out')

I thought it might be an idea to bring all the new features together in one thread, hopefully making it easier and faster for everyone (including me!) to become accustomed to the new look.

Please feel free to add the features you like and how you think best to use them.

SEARCH TIP.

So for me I think one of the best navigational aids is a tiny little icon inserted into the Thread location address bar above!
In fact on a mobile, at least, it's so small it's almost not there, but it's one of the most powerful search tools.

It's located here!

If u action this Icon this is what you will see.

In here you can pretty much get anywhere in the forum quickly.
Your Profile, your Account & Conversations on the personal side of things or the main Tiling Forum, Tilers Forums Arms & Trusted Advisors Forum for those who have access.

So here's another handy little tip.

How to link someone from one thread to another.

Let's say that you're answering a post and u wish to re direct the member you're talking to, to another post in a different thread.
For example, instead of answering a question maybe you feel it's more beneficial to direct someone to an old thread that best answers their question..

Firstly find the particular post you wish the person to be re directed to.

Secondly, press and hold the date here.

image.jpg

Copy the link.

Then write your post and add your link!

image.jpg

This is what will be posted

image.jpg

So u can now direct anyone to a particular post for whatever reason u like!

The easiest way to start a conversation with anyone is to firstly click their Avatar to the left of the thread.

A POP UP WILL APPEAR!

On here you will find information about the member plus you can perform certain functions, one of them being 'Start a conversation'

HOW TO ANSWER A POST within a thread with a PM.

For example answering a job offer!

Remember Personal contact information is not
Allowed to be displayed in open posts,

Click the Avatar within the post and you will get this 'Pop Up'

This screen will reload.

You can now enquire about the position using the
Personal message system!

HOW TO LEAVE A LINK IN YOUR POST FOR
MEMBERS TO CONTACT YOU.

When posting an article, and you want members to contact you via
The personal message system (PM) instead of those you're trying to attract
having to find a way to access the PM system, you can do it for them!

When you've compiled your article and before you post it,
Click you're own Avatar to the left to produce your information.

image.jpg

Click 'Start a Converstion' with yourself!
This screen will load!

image.jpg

Copy the page, either by the method shown here for iPhone/iPad
Or right click page with mouse for a laptop, click copy!

Now use back button to return to your article!
And paste the page you copied into your article, and POST REPLY.

image.jpg

Now you've done the hard work, members can answer you direct,
Simply by clicking the link!

I had a small leak in the main water line before the stop tap in my 1950s house. The copper pipe had worn away over the past 70 years, causing a small crack in the copper. A plumber/builder fixed the leak by digging a one-foot by one-foot hole in the corner of the property where the main water...
