Hi,
I am about to tile my small utility room floor with 600x300 porcelain tiles.
the room is ~3.3m * 2.2m.

Is there a perceived wisdom or "right way" as to which way the tiles should be oriented.
I've never laid a floor tile that wasn't square so don't really know what looks "right".

the walls will also be fully tiled with 600*300 horizontally if this has any impact.

regards

Neil

Hi Neil,

You can either tie up the floor tiles with the wall tiles and match the grout lines so having them run lengthways with the wall tiles. Or alternating a half tile if you are running brick bond.

Or you can set them the opposite way to run along the width of the room, doing this is also a trick on the eyes to help the room seem wider, then the opposite to make it longer.
