Hi all,

I'm tiling some fishscale tiles which have artificial joints.

It's a real pain to get the grout into artificial joints: especially as they aren't straight.

https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/achilles-teal-mix-tiles

Other than waiting longer for the grout to dry before wiping it off: are there any suggestions on the best way to this? I'm going to try application with a grout bag next time to make it a little easier. The tiles are also matte and not flat so the tiles get caked in grout.

I'm using Mapei ultracolour plus Manhatten gray.

Any help really appreciated! There was a similar thread here: Grouting advice for artificial joints. - https://www.tilersforums.com/threads/grouting-advice-for-artificial-joints.82946/ which mentions an additive but the link is broken and I'm not sure what purpose that serves...

Thanks!

Looking at the tiles i would think that the the tiles would just interlock and then after fixing just grout over the complete wall to fill any voids between the interlocking

Artificial grout lines are tiles that have a line already scribed into the tile like this tile

Thats the way i would assume they would be fixed

Thanks porcelainwood. The grout between the main tile is easy enough: but the problem in having is getting the grout into the 'scribed' artificial joints. It's quite a similar grey to the grout, but not similar enough! Below is an example of where I've struggle to get the grout into the artificial joints.
