Choosing the correct tile adhesive - Tile Advice

Hi.
Ok, I am officially confused and a little disappointed in the lack of knowledge of behind the counter staff at a local tile retailer. Argh
My problem is I try to do a great job and read too much. Haha.
I have got my ensuite to a stage read for tiling. The shower tray is in, walls tanked. (I can't remember the brand name of the tanking system)
I started reading up on the correct type of adhesive to use in the shower area and come across a site listing British Standard and classes for adhesives. So I thought I needed a D2TE adhesive.
I went into a retailer and all three staff just looked blank. When I tried explain, in my limited knowledge, one even said, oh, BS, they're just numbers some guy in an office makes up. At that point he lost all credibility in my eyes.
They handed me the phone to speak to a Rep from Mapei. He was much more helpful. I explained the shower setup and informed him I was a absolute beginner, so asked if a standard set adhesive would be better suited to my skill set. He agreed. He suggested Keraflex maxi s1. Standard set adhesive.
I was about to look for suppliers when I read that this was a C2TES1.
Now I'm confused.

1. What BS class of adhesive do I need and
2. Which products fulfil that specification?

Your first choice was a ready-mixed adhesive and only suitable for tiles up to around 300x300mm as they dry through dispersion (air drying).
The C2TES1 from Mapei is a cement based adhesive and requires mixing with water. This sets chemically so can fix any size tile, and this type is the professional's choice.

D rating is dispersion adhesive, it needs air to get to it to dry. Maximum tile size is 300mm and I wouldn't use it on tanking.
C1 is glorified sand and cement, could he used with Quarry and ceramic tiles on a solid floor. C2 is polymer modified enough to bond to porcelain. C2s1 has more polymer and will withstand limited vibration /movement. S2 is highly polymer modified and more flexible.
Use a s1 standard set

Thanks for the replies.
Should I go for a more flexible choice?
The reason I ask is because I got a little spooked earlier today. The tiles we bought for this job, we purchased quite sometime ago. Today I read that the tiles we bought, Ted Baker Versatile, manufactered by BCT are poor quality and I read on this forum only today that some people have discovered tiles cracking after installation. Some contributers suggested that could have been caicauby poor prep, I.e. not taping joints etc.

Whats your thoughts. Would a more flexible adhesive limit the possibility of cracking in what could be a poor quality tile.

Do you good people have suggestions on what adhesive to buy for ceramic tiles in a tanked shower enclosure.

2-3 people have advised what adhesive they use and what they'd recommend...

Its not that complicated, if done right.
