Two months ago had bathroon walls and floor tiled in the above by a reputable tiler. After 1 month a hairline crack appeared across 5 tiles. Tiler came back and said he had not encountered this before but thought it may be due to a join in boards under tiles - there was a join under and he replaced tiles (After we bought a new box). We now have two different seperate tiles with cracks - tiler says he will replace but thinks there could be a problem with these tiles. Going to Wickes today and have noticed other different tiles from there have had this type of problem (Posted on here). Has anyone else had problems with these tiles? Tiler wil be put in touch with Wickes about this matter. From box 300 x 400mm Ceramic Natural Stone Effect Wall & Floor Tiles Onyx Gloss - Johnson stamped under tiles.
Any help appreciated

A join in the boards ? What boards ? floor boards, backer boards ? Ply wood boards ?

Hi - thanks for the responses. The original floor in the bathroom is floorboards. The Tiler fitted waterproof boarding to that. The first 5 cracked tiles, when lifted, where found to be over a join. The next 2 cracked tiles (One of which is cracked vertically not horizontally like the other 6) have not been lifted yet.
Spoke to manager at Wickes - no problems that he knows of and this is a big selling tile. He spoke to Johnson who will pass on to their Technical Dept and are supposed to ring back to me. The person there said he was 99.9% certain it was not the tiles but more likely the floor or the way the adhesive had been applied. They may send someone out to inspect - Tiler is happy to meet here when they do.
Thanks for the responses - deflection is an interesting point.
To be continued.

hi, thanks for the update, it dose sound like a deflection issue with the floor, what was the waterproof boarding he used, and what thickness was it..
