Discuss CAD Software, anybody got recommendations? in the Canada area at TilersForums. The USA and UK Tiling Forum (Also now Aus, Canada, ROI, and more)
I’ve been trying to find a decent free or reasonably priced bit of CAD software for doing bathroom visuals. Has anybody got any experience of 3D or even 2D CAD stuff?
A bit of both really but I think it’s the concept that’s most important. Quite often clients can’t picture what I’m suggesting and sketches/scale drawings aren’t really professional enough.
As @ATSDiamondTools Sketchup for me. At the moment they have made it more difficult to get the free version "Sketchup Make". If you say your're just a using it for personal use, they'll direct you to use the online version (no download) and it is proper pants. Instead when it asks for your basic information, make out its for business use, download the Sketchup Pro 30 day trial. After the 30 days, just say you wanna keep using the free version and it will work with only a small amount of rarely used features removed.
Love it. Can see the time you spent on it. The attention to detail is amazing
Here's one of my recent ones. All done for free. Free CAD and free rendering plugin called Twilight Render v2 (Hobby version). Layout designed by none other than Mr George Clarke (or maybe one of his cronies). That man has a lot to answer for! Anyway, render can be made to look even better with artificial light placement. But yeah, a reasonable example of what £0 can get you
