Builders Again!!!!! - Tile Advice

I got a call off a builder I work for regularly asking me to book a small kitchen floor in for him. He said there was a day's work tops. Moved a job back a day then called to look at the kitchen floor. 45 sqm random length stone,crack mat, kitchen and conservatory with ufh why do they think everything is just a day. Now got to try and sort my diary out for a second time

Worked for him a few years now. Last year he told me a job was 5sqm when I turned up to do the job it was 5 metres X 5 metres. Other than that he's great to work for

It gets worse.....fella really wasn't the sharpest. He'd had his tiles from an online firm, enough to cover 4ft by 4ft. I honestly thought he was winding me up when I got there but it just turned out he's really thick.

Wouldn't dream of pricing a job without having a site visit and survey the work involved......that's just crazy!

I completely agree but a "porch 4ft by 4ft" a half hour drive away I thought on that occasion was worth taking the risk. Maybe it turns out I'm just thick too!

Whatever the job how small or big in my opinion it needs to be looked at properly before even contemplating pricing it up

I once went to look at a job, a kitchen floor, he said it was 3m and he had the tiles. It was actually 3x3m and they were shocked when I told them they needed to get more than there 3 boxes
