Broken / hole in floor tile on UFH, repair help needed

Hopefully this is in the correct forum.

Basically, I'm after some help after cracking and breaking a tile

As can be seen from the pictures, it's made quite a hole. We do have a spare tile, however, we have electric underfloor heating and the tiles are on the adhesive that is directly in contact with the heating wires.



Can anyone advise on the options open to us to make a fix?

I would have to say you will be extremely lucky to replace the tile without damaging the ufh..

Likewise. You could try to carefully cut the grout then break out the tile bit by bit. What UFH system do you have and can it be repaired as some manufacturers can be

I lifted few tiles from wire without damaging it. Hammer and chisel and take your time. Will come up.

If the ufh was incased in latex...then maybe. But stuck stright onto the tile....I wouldn't want to be doing it..

Hmmm, that's what we thought, replacement isn't an option.

Therefore, how or what can we use to 'fill'?

Looking at how far the tile has dropped, I would say that they are dot and dabbed.( no adhesive under that spot)
so smashing the tile up ( gently ) might work.

My exact thoughts.
I would smash that into as many pieces as I could & hope I could get it up.
This is one of the reasons why an electric heat mat should be encased in a self level screed.

What did you drop on it to damage the tile so badly?

remove the grout, tap gently with a hammer until the tile is in little bits and replace... i must be missing something because ive looked those pics over and over and cant see how the tile has dropped? i know it will be me though lol

It hasn't dropped much Ash, but if there was adhesive underneath, there wouldn't be any drop.

Believe it or not, I was unpacking a subwoofer and it slipped from my grasp about 2 inches from the ground and guess it caught a weak spot in the tile where their was no adhesive There's a VERY long story behind the people that put the floor in and put it this way, we won't be using them again or recommending them. They took the money and ran... :incazzato:Still massively grates on me now a few years on!

I've read online about a 'resin' filler?
