Plasterboard to use

Hi gang.
My son’s shower room needs re plasterboarding beacuse if a leaking shower over the years.

There’s 12.5 mm vapour board there at the moment.

Do I replace with the same, then tank?

If there is vapour board there at the moment I would replace with the same.
It might be necessary ie the building is timber framed.
