Morning all!

Useless fact of the day......
When you think about it, it's crazy really that in this country we don't celebrate Guy Fawkes (bonfire night) more. It's probably THE single most important date in English history where the assassnation of the King was foiled, yet people celebrate other things more such as Christmas which has actually gone in and out of fashion for centuries despite it being a religious ceremony!
Celebrating 5th November was actually designated by an act of Parliament as a day of thanksgiving until only 150 years ago and the use of fireworks has been going on since 1650!

So take care tonight people, wrap up warm, keep your pets content at home, enjoy the displays and celebrate the failed terrorist assassination of the Monarchy on 5th November 1605!

We probably don’t celebrate it as much because you can’t sit round a tree and open a hundred presents. But given half the chance I expect some bright spark will try and commercialise it even more one day........just as long as they remember to make it a bank holiday it’ll be alright.
