I have just had my bathroom floor tiled which opens up to a landing. The landing is being carpeted but the tiler has tiled all the way to the door threshold which means when a tile to carpet plate is fitted that the overhang on the plate sits firmly in the hall and can clearly be seen (about a six mm overhang) when the door is closed.

I am saying the tiles have been installed too far into the door casing because it should only come half way under the door allowing for the plate to be fitted and not seen and am being told am wrong.

Am I being unreasonable ?

It wouldn't be the first time I have seen a threshold bar visible.

Did you provide the tiler with the threshold bar in advance so he/she knew the depth of it and could set the tiles out accordingly?

There are a variety of different threshold bars available, perhaps there may be a narrower one available.
