Hi,
I am hoping some one on here can help.About a year ago I fixed(using mirror adhesive)a mirror with a heating pad on the back to a wall that was tiled with marble tiles.
A couple of days ago it cracked horizontally, has anyone got any ideas as to why it would crack after a year?
I know it is not exactly a tiling question but I just thought someone on here may have had a similar problem.
Thanks in anticipation

Hi Steve
A number of things could have caused this.
1) The mirror needs expansion room of generally about 2cm. Restriction to this movement would crack it
2) The type of adhesive that was used to secure the mirror. It would require to be highly flexible to allow the movement
3) Joint lines on your marble tiles. If there any movement in your wall, this could crack it.
4) The plate of glass your mirror is. I wouldn't fit any thinner than 1/4 plate is a heat pad is used.
Hope that helps.
