White Room

Recently had look at a job which was just up the road from a job in Islington, grout cracking and silicone looking the worse for wear.

The women was still in touch with the original tiler who had moved away,8 years ago, I asked was it tanked, method of fixing etc, the lady got in contact with him to ask some questions...the text she sent me is as follows which I will write in brief,.....

Answers to my questions on bathroom:
There is no tanking
Tile adhesive was used to repair walls
Many tiles were glued with dot and dab rather than solid covering of adhesive, which may explain why some tiles sound hollow:confused:.

As it is a basement, he (the previous tiler) suggested movement could be down to earth around it (the basement) and the client may do the work only to find it cracks again in 18 months.

Previously regrouted 18 months ago which has cracked again

What I suggested she really isn't interested..tiles removed and substrate sorted etc.

I'm losing the will...some just don't listen.
