Hi, looked at a couple split face jobs recently where the customers want them to wrap around the chimney breast.

I would usually fit a solid strip (wood or trim) to the edges to avoid mitring. This didnt go down to well and i havent heard from them since....

Just curious to everyone elses approach with these.

Yes, mitre at the corner and join up with offcut on next adjoining face. If that offcut is too small then replace with a longer piece of identical/ similar look & appearance. I often measure, cut and lay it all out on the floor first (space permitting of course!

Thanks for the quick reply. Whats your preference to fix, resin or sheeted? Thats if youve got the option of course

Top Job there John. Would you recommend some type of matching resin/caulk for the slight imperfections in the mitre joints?
