I buy at about 3 years old after worst depreciation then run until 10ish when they become uneconomical

I agree with you but couldn't find anything decent and then got an 8 month old from main dealer at just a little more .

Jeez that 2.0tsi Transporter....31mpg.

I get 35 in what I use now and feels like I'm always filling it up.

I get 32mpg in my lwb traffic, I’d expect much more in a Transporter

Looked good but 22mpg real world apparently, then £1240 first year tax and over 200 co2 emmissions, so ongoing tax will be big, for some reason i think around 600 (?)

Why would you expect more in a transporter . It is much better built vehicle , hence probably heavier .

Diesel here and surely a new smaller van would be better on fuel, mines a 3.5t weight limit also which is always heavy with tools and materials
