its took me ages to find my way to be able to post this, still trying to figure this out, im not the best with computers, lol. i read the link pva vs primers but for the likes of BAL BOND SBR and BAL PRIMER what is the difference?

sbr is styrene butiadene rubber solution it can be used as a primer and admix to give extra bond strength and increased flexibility and water resistance to cement based mortars bal primer is an acryllic emulsion solely made for priming not sure of its chemistry other than it works extremely well on plaster

hi

some are just basic acryllic primers like mapei g and bal etc
where as sbr can be used as a primer OR and 'admix' it has more characterics than a basic 'primer' ie higher waterproofing agents, more bonding capacity, more elastic property etc..

ps, sorry gary, by the time id got back to this, you'd more or less wrote the same as what i did so ditto ;0)
