Thanks to all the sponsors that have booked. And thanks to all the members / readers of this website that have registered for their free ticket!

For those that haven't heard about the show..... what the hell? It's THE Tile related show for the U.K. and stands a pretty good stance in the whole of the EU too. It's set to be far more Tile orientated than what Expo was and is not to be missed if your business is to do with Tile.

For those that have and are going, we'll see you there for a group hug :grouphug::mad2:

Some information about what's going on at the show lifted from the TSS website:-

TILING COMPETITION - WHO'S REALLY THE BEST TILER IN THE COUNTRY?

A huge hit in 2007, the Tiling Competition is set once again to be a central feature of the show. 6 finalists, winners from various UK final, will battle it out to be the UKs best fixer and will be judged throughout on their designs and technical skills by an independent panel of judges.

WHAT EXIBITORS TO EXPECT

Ceramics
An international mix of suppliers of grouts, adhesives and accessories will be exhibiting at the show this includes latest designs and product launches from major manufacturers.

Handmade Tiles
This integral sector of the market has not been serviced by a UK show before. Individually designed stands will allow these companies to exhibit in small areas. Artisan painters and manufacturers will therefore be able to give their valuable time to display their products.

Natural Stone
Natural Stone Exhibitors from around the world will be at the show. This will be of great interest to retailers and fixers attracting also the architectural/specification market. A wealth of technical information will be available to visitors.

Tools & Fixing
Adjacent to the practical demonstration theatre, companies exhibiting here will be able to demonstrate the latest tools to fixers and contractors who will be attending problem solving clinics that run throughout the duration of the show.

Underfloor Heating
All exhibiting companies will be encouraged to run demonstrations on their products showing ease of installation as well as the great benefits of selling this added value product.

Design Excellence
Design Excellence runs throughout the show with pre-selected products demonstrating innovation and creativity within the industry.
Events

We are currently working with organisers to incorporate other events to run within and congruently to the show. Details will be available shortly.

SEMINARS

Business Help Theatre
The Business Theatre at the 2008 Tile and Stone Show will give visitors the opportunity to attend seminars hosted by prominent figures in the industry. Generic subjects including marketing, customer services, ecommerce and shop design will feature.

Design Theatre
Running for the duration of the show visitors will be able to attend seminars on specialist subjects. These include tile design colour forecasting and tile specification. Hosted by experts in the industry, this theatre will enhance the opportunities offered to proffesionals seeking to further their knowledge and learning.

Full seminar timetables will follow.

DEMO ZONE - PROBABLY WHERE YOU'LL BE SPENDING A FAIR BIT OF YOUR TIME - IT'S WHERE ALL THE NEW GEAR WILL BE TESTED!

Demonstration Zone
This area will be designed as a walled demonstration area and not seated. There will be adequate spaces for exhibiting companies to make an impression by means of all the latest tools and fitting techniques within an ongoing question and answer environment.

FLOOR PLANS (so far)

We're in the top left of the floor plan here, so in the hall and straight to the back and turn left down that last isle. Obviously checkout some stands on the way and get to know where the bar is. :)

TILE STONE SHOW IS CANCELLED 2009

http://www.thetileandstoneshow.co.uk

Industry Announcement
Dmg world media regret to announce the postponement of kbbreview EXPO incorporating Tile and Stone and Floorstyle 09, which was due to run at ExCeL 10th-12th May 2009.

EXPO has been serving and supporting the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom industry in London since 2001 and is a very successful concept and brand. However, it has become clear that the current extraordinary economic climate has meant potential exhibitors are making tough strategic decisions and they cannot be present at the 2009 show.

Dmg world media publishing and events director Patrick Taylor said:
"The economic downturn has hit this industry hard and it has become clear that potential exhibitors do not need the added strain of sustaining a 2009 London show. In the hundreds of conversations we've had, the vast majority of suppliers and manufacturers are saying they have made a strategic decision to not exhibit in London in 2009 and we respect and understand that. Kbbreview is now in its 25th year and we've reached that milestone by always supporting and listening to the industry."

However, dmg would like to make clear that this announcement does not affect the kbbreview Industry Awards 2009, which will take place at ExCeL on May 11.
"The kbbreview Industry Awards is the biggest party of the year and the 2009 event is set to be bigger and better even than the record breaking 2008," said Taylor. "We are in the middle of the extensive judging process in preparation for the event in May and tables are selling fast. "The facilities at ExCeL are world class and the venue should provide a memorable back drop to a fantastic night."
