Grout residue left on oak worktops..what's the best solution

Sand and varnish/oil or whatever finish it has. If a bit of soapy water isn't sorting it out.

If it's in the grain you'll need a French Polisher!
Too late now IMHO but for others -Never work over unsealed or unprotected wood of any type. Even drips from the sponge will stain.

I've had white spirit pull me out of the poo when the worktop hasn't had enough danish oil on it

It was due a seal too !

Hardwood is a terrible stainer....

Not much comfort to you, but.........I have never seen the point in Oak worktops.
It's not a matter of if, but when they will stain.

Wood bleach from amazon put it on with a cloth leave 5 mins whip of with clean water ... Get a demo on utube
