Thanks for all the feedback. I'll try the other. My main issue has been the pot life. Very fiddly little room so I want 4hrs, not 45mins.
I want to stick with Ctd really so I need to find my adhesive there.
I'm sure i used to use loads of this and it was better though?

CTD don’t just stock Weber, they have Mapei, BAL and Ardex also

I've not used weber set spf for a couple of years, but ctd recently opened in Preston (finally!) so all giddy with excitement I opened my account and went and bought half a dozen bags.
Now I really wish I hadn't! It's terrible to use. Sure, it sticks really well. But it's stringy and claggy. Open time is poor and for a slow set, it's going off in the bucket in little over an hour (and it's only about ten degrees c in here).
Maybe I've just been spoilt using tilemaster lightweight, kerakoll bio gel etc.
Anyone else use it and like it?!
I have been tiling for about 14 years now ans used weber a few time always had problems with it last time i used it i think it was about 10 years ago.and i sayd will never use it again.some like it.but i dont.

Can't say I've ever enjoyed using any particular adhesive. For me adhesive is adhesive. Used BAL, Mapei and Weber and apart from slight difference in texture it's all the same to me. You comb it on and it fix the tiles.

But if the adhesive falls off your tools and doesn't hold its ribs unless you mix it so stiff it won't grab, that's not fun to use.

Best adhesive ever was BAL mosaic fix. The old one.

Got to admit it was nice I used to use it a lot for putting up hand made tiles .

What I have found with the modified adhesives is that they need a second mix. Mix it how you like it then 10 - 15 mins later, give it another good stir for a minute or so and the adhesives are a dream to use. I do this with all brands and even some rapid set (cut the wait time down though)

Well today whilst in CTD I decided to take @Andy Allen advice and tried the Weber set plus white instead of the spf white (blue bag) must admit mixed up really well added some
AD250 and was really good to use. Stood up well, no collapse in ribs, didn’t need mixed up again and didn’t dry out. Think it might be my new standard adhesive, good shout Andy!
