Tiling straight on to block? - Tile Advice

Got asked by my labourer today if you can tile straight on to blocks, and I was trying to decide whether I think you could or not ..

Opinions ?

What type of blocks.? Concrete blocks, should be no problem, others such as thermolite less so.

yes you can.... if you are worried - just prime the blocks.

Word of warning - in new build scenarios, settlement can cause cracks which can in theory carry through.
If you're fixing anything very large and very expensive to any new block walls, consider boarding it first.
Think "ditra for walls".
