Sbr primar for bathroom walls help - Tile Advice

hi iv used jewsons sbr admixture to prim my bathroom walls before I tile them, it says it is a good all round primar, can anyone let me know if this will be ok before I start tiling. I’ve attached a picture of the sbr I have used any help would be grateful thanks

That will be fine, as long as your using a powdered adhesive and not a paste.

It’s the adhesive that you mix up yourself

I didn’t water it down just put it on straight out the bottle is that ok

Probably not it is likely sat on the surface and you could peel it of insheets

Get peeling! You now run the risk of the bond of the adhesive to the substrate being compromised

Put some Gaffa tape on it, press it on hard. Pull off sharply - what happens?
Should be minimum 1:1 for priming ( I use it 1:3). It’s just to stop the moisture sucking out too quickly and the surface should still be able to breathe.

Thanks for the reply’s iv just found this out from the tile centres, good job I checked, I had a feeling it was wrong that’s why I was questioning it, at least il know for next time

Nightmare, any ideas what the best way is to get this primar off

Could try a decorators 75mm filling knife which very flexible and has a very thin blade, probably need to go to a decorating centre rather than a diy depot

Why wouldn't I prime the walls if I was using ready mix ?

Most pastes are self priming so its not needed.
Also, the sbr layer will make it harder for the paste to dry out.
