Paint stripping - Tile Advice

I was told on a tiling course that if you wanted to remove paint use a cheap ready mixed addy, spread it on then after a few minutes scrape it off and it will bring the paint with it. Before I go and do this dies anyone know if this works?

Just sand it off is a lot easier.....and cheaper.

Sometimes if u give it a cost or 2 of primer it makes the paint scream of in nice long sheets if u have a sharp blade in ur scraper of course

Sorry for delay. Thanks for your answers. Managed to get it all offeel. Turned out three was about 55 layers of paint over old Woodchip! Once the tiles were it was easy enough. Thanks again
