Hi
It’s a very informative helpful forum, really enjoyed reading some threads already.
Thanks for sharing your experience & knowledge.
I’ve been tiling off & on for 12yrs but recently doing more private commercial jobs.
May post a question in future.
Thanks in advance

Thanks so much for the welcome
I’ve got a question about ditra matting and similar products for preventing movement/cracks.
(Not sure this is the right place to ask)
I have a ground floor on concrete 20metres square that I’m tiling in 5weeks.
They don’t want matting due to cost and the kitchen fitters who laid the kitchen tiles over existing tiles, which is the same substrate I’m tiling on, said it wasn’t needed ... ‍‍♂️
My question is when is matting essential/non negotiable?
Until now I’ve stated that’s your choice, but if it cracks that will be why and not my fault.
Is that a common scenario you meet with?
Thanks in advance
