Good evening, we have just had our bathroom replaced by a local company who advertise that they specialise in bathroom and kitchen replacements. The general standard of the work has been good except for two issues. The first is the quality of the cutting of the tiles and the second is a variation in grout colour.

We chose a tile with squared off edges (sorry forgot the proper name) as we wanted clean consistent lines but the attached photos show how the tiles have been cut. The two photos below are probably the worst two areas but there are no real clean cuts anywhere in the bathroom.

Could I ask whether the opinion is that this is an acceptable finish please? Am I going to have to get them to replace the tiles? If so any suggestions how to get a better finish or am I better trying to find a local tiler and if so will they want to come in and tidy up someone else's work?

The second problem is a variation in colour of the floor grout. We went for a light grey but there are two patches which are dark grey. The builder has said it will dry out and lighten up
but it has been almost a week. Should we keep waiting for it to dry or should it have dried to it's final colour by now?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Put your concerns in writing, dated and keep copies.
The cut edges are not acceptable, patchy grout can be caused by a number of things and sometimes it can take a week to dry evenly - what make of grout?
