Hi a friend has asked me to tile her bathroom to which I said yes I’m it a professional but had done my own house refurbs to which she’s seen anyway she has purchased 2mm thick 300x300 mother of Pearl Mosaics to which she would like cut into 100 wide strips to form a border normal tiles are 9mm so should I get hardy backer board to make up difference ? also mosaics have no grout line they will be going in shower area any advice appreciated . Exactly my thoughts in the shower. However I’m confusing these with the mother of Pearl stick on mosaics which are stuck onto ceramics- they definitely weren’t suitable so agree with Jcr, best to double check

failure waiting to happen . So if you change the adhesive to an epoxy adhesive how are you going to stop water getting to your other adhesive .
