Geometric floor restoration - Tile Advice

Hi

Attached is a picture of my hallway and as you can see it has minton/geometric tiles.. From the picture it looks in good condition but there are quite a number of cracked and damaged tiles.. I have a few spare tiles from another area of the house that I've lifted but not enough to replace all of the damaged tiles..I was wondering if there we're some kind of coloured epoxy type fillers on the market that i could fill the cracks in and polish out?



Once i have done all this (which will i know will be very time consuming ) it needs a good clean and sealant applying..Do you know the best methods for this?



We've tiled thousands of floors over the years in new build houses but never really done any restoration work like this

Hi , I used to buy coloured resins and waxes from Crawshaws of Croydon , they still may have these-was a long time since I bought some. if you speak to gill she can perhaps help still.

After the floor is solid , I work the floors over with as specific tile alkaline cleaner, we have Wexa ( other products avalible) 1-5 diluted working small sections with a white pad and soft brush -Rinse and towel dry.

If you had waxes or old finishes on the floor , I would strip it first with a specific stripping agent , then the wash if required.

You would need to test these products over your new fillers to ensure these don't remove them.

I leave all my floors 7 days minimum or longer if required to remove all moisture. Still use the floor sock feet, do not lays runners or cover the floor.

After this I would put in a specific un glazed ceramic impregnator, ensuring all excess removed.

You can apply topicals on these, not a big fan as these are high traffic areas and these can traffick easily, unless your a shoes off household . Although these tiles were never made to be shiney. Much easier with just an impregnator.

Maintain with the correct product, recommended by the impregnators manufacturer for longevity and ease of cleaning.
