Hello all.. I have a new one for me and was unsure which way to go.. what would you do?
a customer is having a new extension with about 40m floor that will need tiling onto new concrete screed.. none of it has been done yet.. The tiles will run through the house, which has floor boards..
would you put hardie boards onto the existing floor boards, then bring the new floor level upto the hardie boards???

It is also optional to rip up existing floor boards??? Would this be structurally beneficial in any way?? (i.e... lay a thicker hardie board onto joists???? or lay a new chipboard flooring and then boards????)

Surely this is the best option (to lay boards first).. regards height.. and then lay screed..
then just put in an expansion joint.

Lots of options but just wanted to achieve the most bulletproof??

Thanks
