So thought I'd put some pics up of a recently completed intresting commercial job...
Various shaped gutters and drains dotted around the two rooms, floor areas totaling 110sqm.
Large water bottling and cleaning machines to be fitted in the rooms over the gulley drains, hygienic plastic cladding will be fit to the walls and finished with matching skirting tiles at a later date.
All gutters were in place and floors screeded level before I arrived on site.
The clients only specification was "no puddles around the machines on the floor at the end of a shift"
Agreed with client the need to raise the centre of rooms to allow for falls to drains, raised the centre of rooms using 20mm insulation boards and then feathered in rapidset in between tappered runners gave a good drop where needed, final skim of ultra rapid slc gave a nice flat surface to fix the 200x200 Doti star tiles to. One room was finished with Mapei kerapoxy grout to prevent cleaning chemicals penetrating and delaminating the grout..
I'll get some more pics when I'm back to finish the skirting tiles but theres a few to be getting on with, unfortunately the lighting wasn't the best but can get an idea on the scale of the project.. Nice job Andy and it’s good to see a job that’s technically challenging even with simple tiles. It couldn’t have been easy creating all those falls. Looks good, nice one
Thanks Lee, spent quite some time working out and took some advise on the falls before tackling them, bag after bag of rapidset went into them, the materials bill for the second room was eyewatering but client got what he'd asked for...no puddles :)

Looks kool mate, good to see something out of the ordinary.
Did you test the falls? :D

Love the closer! Haha ;)
Cheeky that closer eh...enabled for full tiles round the entire U Shape gullies.
Well I haven't actually thrown any water on the floors yet, but my levels says the water was only gonna head towards the drains ;)

Good to see it come together Andy and all the prep worked out well, many wouldnt have gone to the effort you have to get the falls in place etc, nicely done !

nice work Andy.
that was the sort of work I did when I first start, 30+ years ago, all in sand and cement and water levels then.
looks good, as has been said, nice to do something different
