Your 600x300 porcelain will be too heavy to tile onto plaster anyway so you will need to replace or overboard any plastered walls

Vertical stain looks like the source of moisture, horizontal staining from trapped moisture behind the tile. Me thinks.

Thanks for all your replies the board that is there has a top papery layer that is peeling with the moisture is that part of the plaster board

Black is mould but the orange looks more like rust to me.

Could be an angle or screws/nails rusting.

As above you'll need a stronger substrate for a tile that size, and waterproof it...

Aye, looks like skimmed plasterboard, the corroded thin coat plaster angle bead, would suggest that. So should be a relatively easy fix, ( board and waterproof) unless you have underlying issues such as timber decay. Cheers.

Remove all the damp/perished plaster-board, replace with a waterproof tile backing board and fully tank it out with tape and tanking paste supplied in the Tanking Kit. Read the instructions of all the materials that you choose before using them. If there is anything that you don't undersatand come back to the forum or contact the technical department for the materials.
