I was on a job this week, and used Bal green https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/,as supplied by the customer. I have used it before and it seems pretty good. What I would like to know is what is the differance between Bal blue and Bal green....apart from the price! Also, on the subject of price...the customer supplied all the tiles https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ and grout bought from Topps tiles in Falkirk. I know that there is a differance if I bought from them at trade prices...but £27 /tub for Bal green......thats taking the pi**!

You should be able to get BAL Green Star for at least half that for trade.

Thanks guys.....as I said I used the Bal green, and it is the cheaper of the two. The customer was given the option of me supplying the grout and https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/.When they purchased the tiles, they decided to get the grout and https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ thinking they would get it at a good price as it was a "tile shop".......I am not suggesting that they should have got the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ at trade price.....but given the amount that they spent on tiles they did'nt deserve to be ripped off in this way.Although,to be fair maybe Topps are protecting the trade by selling the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ at retail. I find that where I live and work...Falkirk area....there are a lot of plumbers in the local area, and some, who judging by the prices that they put in their adverts......[bathroom suite fitted from£95!......] are not legit. Again ,I am not against people charging whatever they want
but these guys give the punters the idea that all jobs are cheap. So thats why I do tile as well as plumbing,as there is just not enough plumbing work for me to get by on. I hope to be Corgi registered next year,so in the meantime I will continue the full bathroom installations, and supplying the adhesives,etc...with a wee mark up of course! As far as the plumbing materiel goes......the merchant that I use in Cumbernauld sells his boilers and bathroom suites to the public at the same price as the trade....in fact you can,t get near the "trade" counter at the weekend for Mr and Mrs Joe Public.

pound for pound, white star is probably the best tub gear on the market, personally I wouldn't touch green star, rather pay the extra for the piece of mind, next time you use green star or cheap tub adhesives, just let it cure on your trowel then see how easy it comes of with a damp sponge, try the same with white star or any class aa and see the difference

£27! Shocking
We do this for £6.99:thumbsup:

What's a delivered price for enough for a delivery? Small pallet or whatever is possible mate? And how many would I get? - Just wondering.

And are you limited at all on where you can sell to do you know? Perhaps just trained deligates, perhaps just your area, or anywhere? Could play on these prices if it was worth you shipping them at that price!

Thanks Kenny lol :tt2:...Gaz

Hey, when Topps pay for advertising we'll remove such offers lol. That price is good and the members need to know if they can get it for that price long-term I think. Plus, Kenny doesn't sell tiles nor offer the topps 5-card trick lol :p

I used to try and remember it like this when I first started to work for Topps. Green star in kitchens, blue star for granny smiths shower who lives on her own, white star for the family bathroom. The coverages chage aswell as the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ type and so would the grout but you can be safe with some type of basis like that.... or I was anyway.

BAL Tile and Grout for the bin. That never took off. BAL should hang their head in shame for allowing that product to get in the market at all. tut tut

Nice simple way of putting it, unlike Bal's website :)
