Hi. Did I read somewhere that B&Q own tile adhesive is actually Mapei, just repackaged?

I tried looking in their site and couldn't figure be a power B&Q adhesive, not even. Dialling.

People like b and q get things made in their own brands to a price which basically means all the good stuff is taken out . Decorators use things like dulux trade because they can cover in one coat , you couldn't do that with b and q own brand .

Someone i know who worked in b&q said alot of their stuff is basically ‘crap’ and made for the diy person.

They said the mapei isn’t as good as what you’d get from tile giant, ctd, etc. ( even though it’s in the same bag)

They even told me the heated towel rail middle bars don’t actually have water running through them and therefore won’t heat up there!

I've always been told dulux from b and q isn't as good as dulux from elsewhere again its made to a price

I would have to disagree, I buy Dulux Trade from the builders merchants and from B&Q when it’s on special offer, I really would not be able to tell the two apart.

The decorators Merchants Dulux is different to the B&Q Dulux. I have first hand experience of this and its also hearsay amongst the Decorators fraternity.

No idea on builders merchants stuff.

I went to the mappai factory and they told me their products for B&q were inferior. They are made for them to a cost.
Go to a specialist tile supplier

Is it just B&Q?
If you buy it from Wickes it should be the good stuff then.
